Our Vantage Point Because the Destination is both a landscape and a graph. What functions as the horizon line is also a line graph of the highest elevation points of each county in North Carolina. Because western North Carolina is mountainous and eastern North Carolina ends at the coast, the graph allows for a varied horizon that reaches both extremes of the graph's limits. The plastic circles represent a measurement of the population of North Carolina, county by county. These symbols for population also function as precipitation to further separate the sky from the ground and reinforce the notion of a landscape.
